Communications, Ouchita University
Sarah Goldstein is the Marketing Communications Coordinator for Carolina Day School. She was drawn to CDS because of its strong sense of mission: to inspire students to become innovative thinkers who communicate with intelligence and clarity, create with vision and purpose, and act with courage and compassion to confidently make a meaningful difference in the world.
She notes, "The leadership, faculty and staff at CDS are very intentional about not only helping children succeed on the individual level, but also preparing them for a life in which they can contribute with compassion to the betterment of our collective world. We as a society need this now more than ever."
This quote by Fred Rogers, the creator and host of the educational television program Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, describes Sarah's feelings and approach to work, family, and life: “If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.”
Prior to coming to CDS, Sarah worked in marketing and communications for a large, urban public library system, and as an art director and graphic designer in various design agencies. In 2016, she was honored to be awarded the Marketer of the Year award by School Library Journal and the John Cotton Dana Public Relations Award by the American Library Association. She is a member of both the Public Relations Society of America and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Her volunteer work includes marketing consultation for the Western NC chapter of Carolina Jews for Justice, a Jewish grassroots network committed to creating a just, fair and compassionate North Carolina. She and her husband Mark have a 4-year-old son.
