Other Information
Bo Attwood has been at Carolina Day since 2001 beginning as a Key School faculty member and currently the Director of Technology for CDS. All three of Bo's children have been Key School students. He was a child development major. “I was trained to assess where someone is and figure out where they need to go in their educational process. Breaking tasks down to their most basic elements and then directly teaching each piece was particularly helpful at The Key School and even now in teaching how to use technology,” said Bo.
Get to know Bo Attwood:
What do you like most about your job at CDS? I still get to “teach” faculty and students about technology but without the tests, grades and reports to write. A teacher’s dream come true!”
In your opinion, how does the CDS community inspire students to be courageous and curious, wonder about things that they don’t understand, try new things, and develop individual passions? It’s safe to try something different and even fail at CDS. That’s when true learning happens.”
How would you describe yourself and/or your approach to your job in 10 words or less? “Be flexible and ready for anything.”
What personal passion brings balance to your life? “Exercise, swimming, walking, biking, hiking . . . movement keeps me sane.”
Is there anything else we should know about you and your work? “Technology and the Internet are tools . . . it’s what we do with them that make it great.”
How is CDS different from what you experienced as a child in school? Encouragement and support abounds here and not just for the students. Faculty and staff are encouraged to stretch themselves as well.”
