Carolina Day School (CDS) is pleased to announce that Trip Cogburn ’98 will serve as the school’s new Director of Admission and Enrollment Management.
Cogburn, a 1998 graduate of CDS, is also a school parent and global studies teacher, as well as the ninth grade dean of students. He has served in the admission department for the last three years, and is formerly the boys varsity basketball coach. ”We believe Trip is the right person to help our school maintain the school’s momentum, and take us to new heights as we pursue strategies to grow and thrive,” said Head of School Kirk Duncan. Cogburn has worked at CDS since 2013. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English in 2002.
When asked what he likes most about working at CDS, Cogburn said, “Honestly, my work at CDS doesn't feel like a job. Most days I can't wait to get on campus to see what adventures await. My fellow faculty members and our students challenge me to be at my best every day. Our work is important and meaningful but also lots of fun—life is too short not to enjoy every moment."
