DIVISION ONE ATHLETICS NEWS: Kasey Kidwell ‘18 has verbally committed to play college basketball at NCAA Division I Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. Kidwell had offers on the table from more than 10 programs, but after her official visit to Austin Peay, knew she had found a home. According to Kasey, “I felt an instant connection not only with the coaching staff but also the players. I could not be happier with my decision.”
Kidwell, a 5’8” guard for the Wildcats, earned numerous honors her junior year, including CAA All-Conference Honors, NCISAA 2A All-State Honors, and was named a member of the Citizen-Times All-WNC basketball team. Additionally, Kidwell helped lead the Wildcats to their seventh straight NCISAA 2A basketball title this past season.
Kidwell will hold her official signing ceremony on the campus of Carolina Day School during the NCAA’s National Letter of Intent's early signing period, which begins November 8 and runs until November 15. Once Kasey makes it official, she will become the seventh Wildcat player under Coach Joe Carrington to sign an NCAA Division I National Letter of Intent.
