May Day Celebration
Posted 05/03/2017 01:32PM

The Pre-K May Pole has been a tradition for more than 22 years. As with all traditions, it has morphed into what it is today. It’s become a buddy activity in the Woodlands. One class at a time wraps the May Pole with the beautiful ribbons while the other class watches. The fourth grade buddies hold hands with their Pre-K buddy, who is holding the ribbon, as they walk around the pole. This is a culminating activity of our study of spring. Students have germinated seeds, planted flowers in their garden, planted grass and watched it grow in the classroom, learned which animals are oviparous and viviparous, painted flowers, drawn and labeled a growing plant. #CDSlearns
