MD, UNC Chapel Hill
Erich Buehler teaches grade 7 Math and Life Science at the Key School and joined the Carolina Day School team in 2016. Before coming on full-time, Erich was previously seen around CDS for several years as a tutor in the Upper School and as a substitute teacher in the Upper School and Key School. Erich has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and an MD from UNC-Chapel Hill. In his (diminishing) free time, he plays the lever harp and gains skills working on his fixer-upper of a home.

What do you like most about your job at CDS?
“I like most the sense of community and being supported and encouraged by it, both in learning and in teaching.”
How would you describe your classroom?
“My classroom is a place where students can feel safe learning without always feeling the pressure to be “right”. Questioning, developing understanding, and the process of working towards the answers are more important.”
