All WNC Basketball Teams

Congratulations to the following Wildcats who have been recognized by the Asheville Citizen-Times. 

 

Girls Player of the Year

Ralene Kwiatkowski ‘17, Guard

Kwiatkowski was named the Carolinas Athletic Association Player of the Year and an NCISAA 2-A all-state selection after leading the Wildcats (28-1) to their seventh consecutive state championship. She averaged 10.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Kwiatkowski was an NCISAA all-star game selection and has signed to play college basketball for Fordham.

 

First Team:

Halei Gillis ’17, Center

Gillis earned NCISAA 2-A all-state and All-Carolinas Athletic Association honors after averaging 10.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks a game. She was an NCISAA all-star game pick. Gillis has signed with Fordham.

 

Second Team: Kasey Kidwell ‘18, guard

 

Honorable Mention: Annabelle Schultz ‘20 and Dani Sweeney ‘19

 

 

ALL-WNC Boys

 

First Team:

Tai Giger ’18, Guard

Giger earned NCISAA 2-A all-state and All-Carolinas Athletic Association recognition after averaging 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

 

Honorable Mention: Raishaun Brown ‘19, Peyton Truesdale ‘17, Luke Rutherford ’17 and Ben Lochen ‘17
