Carolina Day School senior, Michael Connelly, has committed to play baseball at Carson-Newman University.
Carson-Newman, located in Jefferson City, TN., and a member of the NCAA Division II Southern Athletic Conference, has a strong baseball history and was a natural fit for Connelly.
“I choose Carson-Newman to continue my baseball career because from day one, it felt like home," said Connelly. "The coaching staff is made up of some of nicest people you will ever meet. The campus and facilities are terrific and the Carson-Newman community is small, connected, and committed to the right things. Carson-Newman reminds me a lot of Carolina Day, and that’s one of the main reasons I choose Carson-Newman. I love the school, coaches, and staff - I can’t wait to be an Eagle!”
“Michael’s not only a very solid baseball player, but he’s a terrific young man. He’s committed to working hard in and out of the classroom and he’s got a bunch of upside athletically and academically. We know Michael will have a great career as a student-athlete at Carson-Newman,” said Steve Henry, Director of Athletics at Carolina Day School.
