55th Western North Carolina Sports Awards Finalists

Several Carolina Day School student-athletes have been chosen as finalists for the 55th Western North Carolina Sports Awards Banquet. The awards recognize the area's top high school athletes and teams selected by the Mountain Amateur Athletic Club. The banquet will be held May 15 at Omni Grove Park Inn, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The banquet, which has been honoring WNC's top athletes since 1957, also serves as the induction ceremony for the WNC Sports Hall of Fame. Finalists and winners of the awards were chosen by the MAAC Board of Directors from a list of nominees submitted by WNC coaches, athletic directors and principals.

Northwestern Mutual 1A/2A Female Athlete - Olympic Sport: Ralene Kwiatkowski '17, Carolina Day cross-country and track

 

Homewood Suites of Asheville 1A/2A Female Team - Major Sport: Carolina Day basketball

 

Mills Manufacturing 1A/2A Female Team - Olympic Sport: Carolina Day swimming; Carolina Day cross-country


Scholarship Finalist: Mikalya Ray '16, Carolina Day 

 

Asheville Citizen-Times Female Athlete of the Year: Ralene Kwiatkowski '17, Carolina Day multiple sports
